About

Pelin Hepcilingirler-Gledhill is the principal architect at phep design studio in San Luis Obispo, California.  She was raised in Izmir, Turkiye in a family of prolific creators. She received her Master of Architecture degree from University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California and her Bachelor of Architecture degree from Istanbul Technical University in Istanbul, Turkiye. She also studied about the interconnection of philosophy and architecture in École d’ Architecture Paris-La-Villette, in Paris, France. 

When she was writing her graduate thesis “Natural Rhythms and Life Rituals in Architecture”, she developed a fascination about everyday life and the way people live and use space in their own homes, which is why she pursued a career in residential architecture. She has 20 years of experience in custom residential architecture. She worked on several architecture projects all around the world before settling down in the Central Coast California. She’s an avid reader, movie-enthusiast, and an amateur photographer. She lives in San Luis Obispo with her husband, two kids and three kittens.
